PLM’s 415/515 Series Cable Couplers are suitable for use up to 15kV. Each coupler includes silver-plated copper contacts rated up to 500 amperes. PLM Couplers feature a durable, corrosion-resistant aluminum shell. Rigid, non-breakable, EPDM insulator tubes are supplied standard. 415/515 Series Couplers are available in line-mount (cable-mount) or gear-mount (equipment-mount) configurations. Select from four different connection options to provide the best solution for your application. Each coupler we ship includes a stress control kit and detailed installation instructions. Several options are available to customize each coupler to your specific requirements.

Contacts: Silver-plated copper standard. Beryllium contacts are available (male only) where an enhanced level of thermal conductivity is required.

Insulator Tubes: EPDM standard. Teflon insulator tubes are available at an additional cost. Teflon tubes combine a non-tracking, easy-to-clean hydrophobic material with an internal o-ring seal between tubes.

Outer Metallic Shell: Manufactured from 359 Aluminum Ingot.

Connection Options:

8-pitch thread-type standard.

Quik-Thread double-start Acme thread (use prefix “Q” when ordering) couple and uncouple in just four turns.

Quik-Turn ¼-turn ramp-style connection (use prefix “T” when ordering) is available where extremely fast connect/disconnect is required.

Quik-Flip, threadless, bolted-cover connection option (use prefix “B” when ordering) connects using a flip-bolt design that eliminates large threads altogether. The Quik-Flip coupler is the first of its kind to insure a one-second delay between phase and ground check disengagement.
